Welcome to Rainbowland! A place of happiness, peace, animals, love, among other things. Oh, and ponies. Lots and lots of ponies who have life blood made of cotton candy of all things.
My name is Nate Manning and I am working on my first novel which is a passion project called Ponies and the Rainbow. I'm starting this website to give periodic updates to the writing process, upload excerpts as we get closer to release, tell personal stories related to the project, and more to be announced later! Hopefully this journey will lead to a finished book that has plagued me for the better part of a decade.
So what is Ponies and the Rainbow about you ask? Well the main setting is inside a fantasy world and we start our story in Rainbowland with the struggles of brotherhood. Larry, Bob, and Allister McDonald couldn't be more different. One is an athlete with a somewhat bad attitude, one is a braniac who is shy, and one is a leader who is pretty much oblivious to the deeper problems their family has. A deeply affecting story about brothers is tough enough to write, but then you throw in murderous ninjas who one day interrupt the peace of Rainbowland so they can steal all of the cotton candy and it becomes chaos. The journey to bring peace back won't be easy, and the adventure that follows will force these three brothers to work out their issues so they can save their home and quite possibly the world.
More information on the story and where you can find the book will come in the coming months as I work through the long and hard editing process and figure out what to do with it. Right now you can go on over and check out part 1 of the story of how this whole thing started the summer of my freshman year in high school and how we got to where we are now.
